Good afternoon everyone,
I would like to share some exciting news with you this afternoon. While it does not change my beliefs, it does change the dynamic of my campaign. I have amended my filing to now be running as a Democrat instead of an Independent. While my beliefs and goals have not changed, after discussing the prospects of running as an independent with my campaign manager it was determined that in order to have the best chance at winning the election, I need the support of a party. To be honest, in many ways, the Democratic party needs people like myself as well. It is clear that the Democratic party is currently undergoing a change. Today we need a party and elected officials that will stand up for the people. We need people who will fight for those who cannot, who will decry the abuse of the pharmaceutical and insurance industry against the people of this country, and who will ensure that everyone is guaranteed equal rights as our constitution promised.
Many of you may be asking why I decided to “take a side”. I’ve always been a Democrat, but the 2016 election cycle brought into question the motives of the party. I wanted to distance myself from that mess. However; after speaking with some of the Democratic leadership in the area, as well as seeing the progressive Democratic movement spurred by Sen. Sanders, it became clear to me that in order to make the party able to fight for the people, it needed people who would fight for those values. I’m still just an average American fighting for the rest of us. Now, though, I will be partnering with others who share my vision and ideals.
I know that there are many Republicans that are questioning their party as well. I invite you to ask me questions and learn where I stand and how our common goals can find a common ground. I’m a team player, and I am committed to working with whoever wants to fight for the people. I am 100% willing to work with Republicans so long as the goal is to make the lives of the regular American better.
If you would like to help, here are some ways you can participate:
- Donate directly to my campaign
- Volunteer with my campaign
- Become a Member of the Waukesha Democratic Party
- Find a local chapter of the Wisconsin Democratic Party
Becoming a member and volunteering is a great way to contribute and help people like me get elected. If you want to help shape democracy, this is how you do it.
